A "Conversation" with Ted Koppel

Last night I attended Ted Koppel's "conversation" with Ball State. The subject matter on journalism in America. I thought what he had to say was very interesting, one of his points was that America is obsessed with knowing what's going on every 5 seconds rather than important events that may have happened weeks ago. With devices like Facebook and Twitter, we are obsessed with knowing what's going on at this moment.

I think America is too focused on matters that isn't important, like what kind of dog the president is wanting to buy, or what did a celebrity have to eat for breakfast this morning. I don't care.

This past week

This last week we spent time revising other papers on project 2. The method I thought was unique..reading your paper out loud makes you realize what mistakes, or what doesn't make sense, popnout to you. Its one of my favorite editing techniques we do in class.

One thing I found interesting this week was the building built at MIT. Looking at the building reminded me of my traveling experince to Boston, and the uniqueness to that city that I miss. I remember seeing that building being under construction and thought it was the weirdest thing ever, mainly because of its location being in an industrial-like setting with factories. I wonder what it looks like now that its finished?
